NEPEAN FOOD SERVICES
Since joining Meals on Wheels in 1992, Nepean Food Services has provided local residents in the Penrith, Silverdale and Warragamba regions with nutritious home delivered meals and social support.
Following 25 years of quality service, our non-profit organisation has connected older people to their local communities and helped them to maintain an independent and healthy lifestyle.
Sponsored by the Department of Health, we believe in building trusted relationships, fostering a caring and friendly environment, and supporting people to achieve their goals.
We are also a registered NDIS service provider, offering support to people living with a disability.
Originating in Britain during WWII, Meals on Wheels began with the aim of assisting older people who wished to remain independent, but needed help in doing so.
By 1952, Meals on Wheels was servicing South Melbourne residents. The Red Cross soon took over, and by 1957, Sydney City Council introduced Meals on Wheels to NSW.
Nepean Food Services' Meals on Wheels program has continued to grow, and today currently services approximately 600 locals in the Penrith, Silverdale and Warragamba regions alone!
